Local carrier, South East Asian Airlines or SEAIR has rebranded itself as Tigerair Philippines. Tiger Airways Ltd. (now Tigerair) completed its acquisition of a 40% stake in SEAIR in August 2012.

SEAIR aircraft will now be painted in Tigerair's updated livery which was revealed to the public just last July 3, 2013. The first aircraft, an Airbus A319-132 (RP-C5320) arrived at the Clark International Airport this morning and was welcomed with a water salute.

CIAC President and CEO Victor Jose Luciano commended Tigerair for being one of the fastest growing airlines in the country.

Tigerair CEO Olive Ramos said, "We believe in Clark, and we are confident that it will continue to grow."

Tigerair Philippines will be receiving an additional 3 aircraft to complement its fleet of 5 aircraft. Parent company Tigerair has more than 20 orders for Airbus A320 aircraft. This will be distributed to its subsidiaries.

The first aircraft (RP-C5320) landed at the Clark International Airport this morning and was welcomed with a water cannon salute. Its tail-section is painted in Tigerair stripes but the main fuselage is plain white. There is no news yet on whether it will have the Tigerair logo or the "It's More Fun in the Philippines" tourism tagline.

Tigerair Philippines flies to Singapore, Hong Kong daily and to Bangkok and Kalibo 4x weekly from its hub at the Clark International Airport. They also fly to Laoag, Puerto Princesca, Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Kalibo, Tacloban and Tagbilaran from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Tigerair Philippines will also be the first airline to launch a service from Kalibo to Singapore which will begin this month.
