After purchasing a stake in local low-cost carrier Zest Airways, the Philippine-division of one of the largest low-cost carriers, Malaysia-based AirAsia, now flies their aircraft to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport using the slots of Zest Airways.

AirAsia Philippines informed their passengers of an operational re-alignment which cut down the frequency of some of their flights from their Clark hub.

The operational realignment enabled AirAsia to transfer one aircraft to Manila and operate as a Zest Air flight. The aircraft will also be used for the launch of Zest Air's flights to  Ho Chi Minh, and Macau.

AirAsia Philippines currently flies out of their hub at the Clark International Airport to Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei internationally; and Davao and Kalibo domestically. Zest Air flies out of their hub at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Quanzhou, Shanghai, Busan and Seoul internationally; and Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, Cebu, Iloilo, Kalibo, Tacloban, Tagbilaran, Davao, and Cagayan De Oro domestically.
